This beautiful piece was inspired by the Golden Means ratio. This is the blueprint of creation. Nature mimics this math everywhere. From flowers and plants, to seashells to the spirialing of a torando, it is found anywhere you look.
The Golden Means ( 1.61803) was used to calculate the sizing of the squares as they grow in size to give this fractalizing effect. Also as the squares grow for small to big, they raise by 1/2 an inch giving a great deal of dimensionality.
The seed of life in the center of this piece is made with a magnificent wood native to S. America know as Tigerwood aka Jobillo aka Goncalos Alves. It naturally appears to look like a tigers coat. This is my personal favorite wood. And I have not been able to find any recently so its looking like this may be the last piece I have that has this beautiful wood.
